My Story Page 57: The Power of Emergency

February 29, 2008
eyes

Emergency has the power to turn us on our own.

There is no help available from any corners around since it does not give us time to arrange any of these.

It catches us unawares.

We are just left bare entirely on our own resources, whatever we have at our disposal right now and here.

We have to face it with what we have in our hands.

Or else it will kill us!

In no time do we summon up all our energies, scattered here and scattered there, onto one single front, i.e., facing the emergency IMMEDIATELY.

There is no fear in our mind anymore, since if it were, we would not have been able to summon up all the energies and have a laser-like focus onto what the emergency is threatening us with.

Fear eats up our energies. Does it not?

We forget everything and just become the action against the emergency.

Nothing else do we remember anymore!

Because if we remembered, it would again require energy for that; and we simply cannot afford to scatter energy even a bit!

In that case we would not be able to take the right action efficiently against the imminent onslaught of emergency.

In a laser-like focus, we forget our past and face the emergency with an empty mind.

Because it is only with an empty mind that the brain can work at its best and at its swiftest!

And whatever action is performed in such a state of the most acute awareness does NOT get registered in the mind.

It does not leave a single mark of it in our memory.

It does not mean that the memory cells of the brain stop working; in fact, it does get recorded there in a crystal clear way.

But the mind is not there at all at that particular moment to register it in its psychological memory; and even if it were, it would have refused to register it - so unbelievably impeccable are the actions of such moments that the body takes against the emergency.

OK, mind shuts off, brain takes over the complete charge of the situation in the emergency; but what does it do to the body that immediately goes capable of performing the unbelievably impeccable action against the situation that it would, otherwise, never even have dreamt of doing in the so-called mundane situations?

Body comes out of its rigidly armored-cum-lethargic, closed disposition and immediately jumps into a ready and relaxed, open posture of flexible musculature.

Obviously a flexible musculature can flex its muscles better than a rigid one!

At this point, let me remind you of my experience of a middle-aged mechanic saving a child from being run-over by a speeding car through an almost impossible maneuver of his body in order to perform the IMPOSSIBLE feat in the impending emergency that he did, when I was a 10 year old boy:

The first incident - a miracle - is of when I was around 10 years of age.

I had gone to my maternal uncle’s place in Dehradun to spend my holidays there along with my parents.

One day I was going on the road alone for a stroll.

I have been very fond of strolls since my early childhood.

I was on the Bindal Bridge and had already crossed it on my way to Connaught Place.

Suddenly I saw a little kid in the very middle of the road and a car speeding toward him with hardly any distance left between the two.

There were some shops around but the road was quite broad over there and separated them from the middle of the road by quite a distance.

You couldn’t imagine the kid would be saved.

He was simply sure to be run over by the high speeding vehicle.

In my perception, then, nothing else but a miracle on earth could have been able to save him.

It was a sure death, I thought, and closed my eyes.

I wouldn’t be able to witness the tragic scene!

I kept my eyes closed and waited for some kind of noise generated on the road after the accident would have taken place.

But there was no screeching sound of the car applying its brakes after it would have crushed the kid to death.

Rather there were some excited voices of the people around, exclaiming applaud!

I, hoping against all odds but still fearing the worst, slowly opened my eyes.

And the miracle had happened! The kid was safe!!

The car had passed by without applying any brakes.

And the kid was saved by a middle-aged gentleman who, at the moment, was lying down on one side of the road with the kid safely tucked inside his arms.

A few people had gathered, running toward the man, around him; and were creating exclamatory voices excitedly, applauding and praising the man!

After all he had done a miracle!

I ran across the road toward the man and asked him, excitedly:

“Sir, how could you perform the miracle? I had spotted you before the accident (!), and you were there on your shop at least 20 feet from the kid - that was more than the distance between the kid and the car! But then I had closed my eyes. How were you able to reach the middle of the road in the blink of an eye and save the kid?”

The man gave me a cool and relaxed look that comes after doing something really challenging and worthwhile in a total perfect way, nodding his head in a ‘no’ and stretching his hands in an awe.

He himself didn’t know how it all had happened and what, in fact he had done!

I looked toward the people around with the question in my eyes and they immediately started describing the whole incident of the miracle that had taken place in those 2 or 3 (at the most 4) seconds of duration.

O my God! What a story was it!

Till date it is as fresh in my visual and audible memory as it just has happened right now!

Even listening to it was as exciting as witnessing the miracle….

“He jumped like a cheetah,” one of them extolled him taking the kid from his arms, “impossible!”

“Oh, it was like lightning,” another exclaimed with awe in his eyes.

“We just saw a streak of light, that this man had become, emanating from his shop and falling on the kid as it enveloped him, and picked him up to snatch him away from the open jaws of a sure death that it had to be,” a third one emoted, “of course impossible!”

This middle-aged gentleman who had miraculously saved the kid, was a car mechanic working in his shop when he saw the draconian car pouncing upon the kid with its high speed it was at.

And he did the impossible!

“No, I didn’t really do anything! I only remember seeing the kid going to be overrun by the car, ….and now you are saying that I did all those actions which I never did all through my life,” he himself was amazed at what all had happened within no time at all!

“It just happened. It just got done,” he continued.

“You must have been endowed with some divine power at the moment by that almighty God to do the impossible,” a fourth one ideated.

“I never sprang like a cheetah in my life. I am not an athlete too,” the man was really getting surprised himself at what an impossible-looking feat he had been able to perform, and that too, without any preparation or planning at all!

And now, immediately after, he had forgotten it all!

“Are you tired? I mean, exhausted,” I asked him.

“No, not at all; rather I am finding myself absolutely fresh as if invigorated by some invisible stroke of energy within me,” he was really meaning each and every word he was mincing, it seemed.

He was not tired. He was not exhausted even after performing an almost impossible task, which the best athlete of the world wouldn’t have been able to do.

Was there some secret in it?

I started thinking.

I was 10 years of age then.

The whole incident got imprinted on my mind as a vivid visual stored into it and kept its existence intact till in the 53rd year of my life it again surfaced up asking for an explanation for the process of getting tired or fatigued after doing something really tough with a great effort on our part.

But this man had not made any effort at all!

And the impossible had got done in the best possible way.

Rather, the way!

The only way!

The way didn’t tire him at all.

He was as fresh and relaxed as after a good night sleep.

There is something that the humanity is missing.

We must discover it, what!

This was what the emergency did to the body, to the mind and to the brain of this middle-aged man who saved the kid like a superman in the comics only does!

Now the question is that if an emergency can cause such a total change in the body so instantaneously, can it somehow be made a lasting one also?

Lasting for life!

A trillion dollar question!

Can a well-designed emergency solve our problems on earth?

My Story Page 56: The Collective Unconscious

Fear tends to turn unconscious very fast.

It is because we tend to forget it as soon as possible.

We suppress it before we have stood in front of it face to face.

We avoid facing it.

We busy ourselves with greener pastures that positive thinking provides us with.

Fear is dealt with its opposite that is hopeful greed, which essentially positive thinking is.

So, fear is pushed back to the dark domains of awareness, where it is rendered into the hands of the oblivion making itself cognitively ‘unknown’ to our conscious awareness.

Our unconscious is a large storehouse of our forgotten fears.

As humanity’s fears are more or less similar in nature, it develops a collective unconscious common to all its members that we are.

But it does not stay inactive lying over there in a dark, remote corner of the mind.

It exerts its pressure over our awareness in order to turn itself conscious.

It constantly and continuously keeps doing so.

This is what expresses itself in our personality as the faculty of negative thinking.

We are trained anew to suppress it further in the hands of what all is sold in the name of positive thinking on earth.

Positive thinking makes it a point to keep our unconscious as unconscious only, and never lets it be conscious to our awareness.

Hence we never go free of this ‘unknown’ face of fear that our unconscious keeps threatening us with.

We always keep feeling like missing something, which we do not ‘know’ what.

And the moment fear turns unconscious; it sits deep into our body posture without telling us that it has!

It expresses itself as our likes (positive thinking) and our dislikes (negative thinking) in the mind.

It expresses itself as conjugate pairs of over-contracted and over-stretched muscles in the body, which are responsible for generating all the seven chakras that the human body on earth has gone cursed with.

It starts from pelvis and goes up to the crown of the head in order to distort our body posture permanently.

Our body is neither ready nor relaxed even for a single moment throughout our life.

Nor is the mind - either ready or relaxed!

It always keeps thinking either about past (even if a second before) or about future (even if a second after) and never fully attends to the immediate reality impending upon it.

All psychological thinking springs out of our store of unconscious fears only, be it the much sought after positive thinking or the much scared of the negative!

Our mind is not empty enough to deal with the new observations including imminent dangers along with the extremes of perceptions.

Our body is not fluid enough to deal with the new stimuli including bacteria and viruses along with the extremes of sensations.

They fall prey to them, and they fall ill!

Chronically ill as well as the way of acute attacks of diseases!

What if we could make our unconscious fears conscious and deal with them - right now, here - face to face; until and unless they make their face crystal-clear to us?

We are simply dawned upon with the realization that they were nothing more than our stupidities in the body as well as in the mind.

We can now laugh at them.

And as we laugh, we go free of them - once and for all!

And also, as we are able to laugh at them, we go free of all our chronic illnesses along with our basic lack of immunity warding us against acute attacks of diseases, whether mental or physical - once and for all!

Now the question is as to how we can make our unconscious fears conscious and deal with them - right now, here - face to face; until and unless they make their face crystal-clear to us!

Only an emergency has the power to do it.

And that too, a well designed controlled emergency, which does not lend itself to any defense mechanism that could ever be created against it in order to ward it off either in the body or in the mind.

If it is there somewhere; it is no less than trillions of dollars value for the sake of the ultimate health of the mankind on this planet called earth!

My Story Page 55: Fear of Death

February 15, 2008

eyes

Fear of death is the most basic fear of life.

Fear of life is another!

We fear life because it reminds us of our death, and keeps doing so every single moment with each and every breath that we take in, in order to survive a few seconds more.

Breathing unconsciously reminds us of our death that we could have embraced, had we not taken our first breath the moment we came out of our mother’s womb.

More so with inhalation than with exhalation!

Breathing is life.

But breathing is an unconscious effort as well.

This means life is an effort, although in an unconscious way.

Inside the womb, we never had to make any effort whether to breathe or to eat.

Life was all peace.

As soon as we come out, death threatens us.

Fear of death becomes the fear of life.

We borrow a few moments of  life from death through breathing a little oxygen in.

Oxygen turns into carbon di oxide very fast.

Fear of death again envelops us unconsciously.

We borrow a few moments of life more from death through breathing a little more oxygen in.

Our life becomes an unconscious struggle to escape death with each and every breath of it.

We live with inhalation rather than with exhalation of breath.

We want to take more oxygen in than we throw carbon di oxide out.

So, the lungs are never empty of carbon di oxide in them.

How can we take more oxygen into them then?

Our breathing turns shallow.

The more it turns shallow, the more the unconscious fear of death envelopes us perpetually as well as perennially.

The unconscious fear of death expresses itself as the conscious fear of life.

We fear life.

In fact, the shortage of oxygen with each inhalation of ours makes us fear life.

We want to take in more and give out less.

How is it possible?

But the whole world culture has turned like that!

The basic contradiction between what we want and what the scientific reality is as far as comforts of life are concerned!

The more we want the oxygen in, the less it gets inhaled.

The fear of death keeps its clutches tight on us.

Trying to inhale more than exhale keeps our unconscious fear mounted perennially onto our skull and into our body.

This fear constantly keeps pulling our skull as well as our torso down and tucking them in.

It does not let our eyes open fully too.

That is why we are always in a state that is half-asleep or half-awake.

We never come out of this slumber in our life.

We keep dreaming in the day too.

We keep thinking - chewing the cud of the past!

We never meet life afresh.

Meeting life afresh turns our unconscious fear into a conscious one.

The conscious fear of death - not the thought of the fear, but the real fear as such - turns breathing into an effortless one; if we keep facing it in its full intensity for an unspecified duration of time.

Exhalation turns more pronounced than inhalation is, in a spontaneous way.

The skull and the torso open out as well as get stretched up permanently!

The body embraces health and the mind goes empty paving way for the brain to work with full intelligence.

Now the question is: how to turn the unconscious fear of death into a conscious one - not the thought of it but the real fear as such!

Now, let us switch from sex to fear.

We need going into the whole dynamics of it, as to how it generates, what all shapes it assumes and how it interferes with the free flow of energy through the human body.

We all are born with it.

Though it is not an instinct, we inherit it as our first and the most basic emotion as we come out of our mother’s womb.

Our life fears immediate death on the fore as we do not know how to breathe, until we start breathing through crying, pushing the threat of death at the back-end as we get involved into the affairs of life.

But the shadow of the death-threat never parts company with us; it keeps hovering around us in the background, coloring every action of our life with different hues of scare into it.

The colors keep changing their hues.

The first hue is that of dependence.

The scared child depends on her/his mother for life as she feeds her/him through her breast.

Later, the child, slowly and gradually, learns standing as well as walking on her/his own; and goes on reducing her/his dependence on the mother.

As dependence reduces, so does the fear!

But then our dependence never completely vanishes, as we physically grow from childhood to being an adult.

It happens so, because as a child we never get an unconditional acceptance of our natural and passionate urges.

Society tends to condition us in its own threatening ways.

Our parents and our teachers tend to suppress all that is natural in us.

For this the tool they use is nothing else but fear, or else they use its anti-thesis that is greed, by showing carrots to us.

Reward or punishment!

So, fear takes another shape now. It turns us greedy.

We want to be rewarded rather than being punished!

Hence we conform to the threatening ways of the society and turn greedy.

Fear of being punished turns us greedy - always wanting to be rewarded!

We never turn into a real adult who stands on his own feet physically, emotionally, intellectually, and spiritually. We always look toward others for acceptance.

“What will people say?” becomes the guiding scare of all our actions on earth in life.

“What will God say?” becomes another scare of ours!

We never turn independent.

We never turn adult.

We never are free.

And so, we never are healthy. We always keep ourselves closed, scared that something evil will attack us and harm us hard.

We keep our muscular armor stiff.

Keeping this muscular armor stiff becomes a habit with us, whereas its effect on our body organs disturbs our physiology generating all the chronic illnesses in us like heart conditions, diabetes, spondylitis, headaches, migraine vision problems, thyroid and many more ultimately resulting in loss of immunity against diseases.

Fear does this all to us!

And if we could address our scare in its totality even once in life, we can simply go beyond it for good and gain our health back permanently.

Diamond cuts diamond!

But how to address fear in its totality and keep it there in a controlled way till we are able to go beyond, also taking care that it does not kill us before we get free from it?

This should be one of the most important questions in front of humanity today.

Next week we shall try to go deeper into the question.

My Story Page 53: Sensitivity

February 1, 2008

eyes

What kind of stimulus can there be, of which the intensity has a therapeutic effect on the sensitivity of perception; and which can also be kept increasing at will, without falling prey to act upon its impulses at the same time - whether indulgent or repulsive?

It can either be an instinctive, or sensual, or a psychological stimulus that can do the job.

Now, sensitivity of perception is altogether a different entity from that of emotion.

The more acute a person’s emotions are, the less acute her/his perception is.

The two stand inversely proportional to each other.

The therapeutic process aims at increasing the sensitivity of perception.

But right now it is emotional sensitivity only that we possess as the central theme of our personality.

Hence our perception suffers.

The eyes see blurred either near (myopia) or far (hyperopia and/or presbyopia).

A stimulus affects us psychologically more than perceptually.

Instinctive stimuli are hunger, thirst, vision, smell, touch, taste, sound, curiosity, movement and action.

Sensual stimulus embodies sex.

Psychological stimuli comprise fear and greed in which all the rest of our emotions are embedded; fear being more basic than greed is.

We cannot directly address the instinctive stimuli because it is there only that our perceptual problems are lying turning us helpless in those domains.

So, we are left with either sex and/or fear at our disposal.

Let us take sex first.

The way we do our (human) sex is more greed, numbing our sensitivity, than a creative instinct - which it had been designed as by the nature when it turned us from animals on four to humans on two.

With animals it is only instinct but with humans it adds a dimension of creativity to it.

But whatsoever, it is one of the most powerful stimuli for the human psyche.

We can increase our sensitivity of perception through going on increasing this stimulus at will, taking care not to dilute it down by falling prey to the greedy action it habitually calls us for!

Here I describe the procedure that I have named The Synergy Game requiring two opposite sexed persons, to be better called The Energy Partners, helping each other in increasing the stimulus of sex gradually that goes on increasing the intensity of perception, taking you to the level of sensitivity where you need a considerable amount of energy to keep that much of intensity inside!

And if this intensity needs energy to be kept inside, it supplies you with the same as well!

The body expands itself (literally!) in the exact, right way to be able to keep that much of energy inside.

And if the body could reach its threshold, it would never contract back to throw the energy out even after the stimulus is withdrawn.

It remains, then, only a question of how much time you take to reach your threshold and go beyond it.

Here is the procedure:

Are you really attracted toward someone; and the other, toward you?

Ask your id, and not your ego or superego.

No more tags to be attached - no names to define it, no past history together, no future plans together - just pure, intense personality-attraction that has extended itself to envelope body-attraction as well!

I repeat: no past history together - no future plans together - just pure, intense personality-attraction that has extended itself to envelope body-attraction as well!

Only present - right now, here!

Can you undress in front of each other?

And still do not touch each other?

And come closer?

And still do not touch each other?

And come still closer?

And still do not touch each other?

And so on, and on, and on, and on…?

It turns into the dance of passion that you are dancing along with your energy partner!

Or the game of interaction that you are playing so innocently and so energetically with your energy partner!

One single touch, and your game is spoiled!

Rather ruined!

You will be dead - energy wise!

So, take care - you are doing the dance of passion without falling prey to your emotions!

You are playing the game of interaction without falling prey to any crude action!

You are increasing your sensitivity for the acuity of your perception.

There are no hopes for future, because you are never going to touch the other throughout your life!

There are no past memories to cherish, because you never touched the other ever in your life!

But you are coming closest possible to the other - keeping adding fuel to the fire!

Whatever is is there right now!

It is the most extreme sensitivity!

It is the most acute perception!

You are walking on the edge.

Take care not to fall.

Or else, you lose the game!

Not only the game, but also the opportunity to go beyond your emotional sensitivity to the sensitivity of perception!

Your mind (habitual thought pattern) goes empty and the brain takes over the control of the acuity of perception as well as of the impeccability of action.

Next week, we shall investigate into what fear can do for us as far as training the sensitivity of perception is concerned.

My Story Page 52: Intensity

Our mental health is not right.

I mean the structure of our mind, the way it rests in the hands of the human culture on earth.

We all, on earth, are success-oriented people.

We value success more than we value life.

So, we are always in a hurry to be successful - more and more and more!

This mental hurry turns our life into a mental race.

Our mind always keeps running - here, there, everywhere!

We never sit in peace - not for a single second!

When mind is in a hurry, what does the body do?

It, too, never sits in peace.

This not only affects our mental health, but our body health as well.

Body shrinks itself and keeps its muscles contracted perennially, which ultimately turns into our body habit - the way our body becomes habituated of keeping itself.

It never stays relaxed.

It always keeps putting pressure on certain organs through its habitually contracted muscles and the corresponding postural deformities in its postural skeleton; which, in turn, affects the proper working of the organs concerned.

Mental health affects the anatomical health; which, in turn, affects the physiology of the mind-body system.

Vision is the first victim to fall prey to the onslaughts of this nexus between the wronged mental health and the wronged body posture.

Now, what I did, was studying the wronged body posture in detail; and replacing it with the right one immediately corrected the vision.

And once the replacement was done, the life should have gone perfectly smooth along with the corrected vision without any tendencies to fall back to the old patterns of body-behavior again.

But it was not to be so.

Mental health does play its role in deciding the tendencies the body is going to posture itself in!

It does so through the weapon of mental hurry at its disposal.

As the patients correct their vision through posturing their body right, they do not correct their mental disposition; which again tends to spoil their posture the way it had done so in the past when the vision problem had taken root for the first time in their life.

The wronged mental health tends to wrong the healed body back to disease!

The mind affects the body.

Now, my question is: Does the opposite not hold good too?

Does the body - the pattern of posture - not affect the mind - the pattern of thought - too?

If the pattern of thought did it to the pattern of posture, the pattern of posture should do it to the pattern of thought as well!

The cause and effect relationship has always been a dialectical one on earth in life - this is as far as our knowledge of science, in general, goes.

Working with body is easier, faster and more concrete than working with the abstract mind is.

But there remains an inertial effect that takes its time in bringing the requisite change in its counterpart - in this case, the mind.

Pattern of posture can be corrected immediately, but not the pattern of thought.

It keeps on affecting the corrected posture negatively, so that it keeps tending to fall back to the wronged posture again; until the corrected posture (if it could be kept like that against all the onslaughts of the inertial effects of the wronged mental health!) corrects the pattern of thought as well.

A matter of time, pursuance and patience!

Is there no other way out?

I think there is, which I will be discussing in my next posting.
