My Story Page 60: Greed

If fear is tails, greed is heads.

They are the two sides of the same counterfeit coin.

Avarice simply means desirous of getting a thing - something.

Why desirous?

What if I do not get it?

I fear that situation. I do not like not getting it.

We dislike what we fear.

We like what we desire.

Desire itself is greed.

So the crisscross of our fears and avarices gets woven onto the lit surface as well as in the deep dark corners of our mind imparting to us a complex array of all the emotions with which we live all our life from birth till death.

All avarices have their conjugate fears as the opposite side of the counterfeit coin that mind is.

Vice versa every fear has its conjugate avarice as well.

If I fear a thing, I desire it not to be there. I desire whether I am hopeful or I am not.

If I am, I am a positive thinker.

If I am not, I am a negative thinker.

Either way, fear and desire are common to my mental reality.

Hope is the mask that hides our fear behind it.

Fear turns unconscious.

So does the associated greed!

Behind a positive thought, there lie all our unconscious fears and avarices.

Same way behind a negative thought, there again lie all our unconscious fears and avarices.

So it is thought that is culprit in essence and not the positive or negative of it!

We live with our unconscious fears and greed all through our life, which we do not know what they are, since they are not conscious to our awareness.

Our awareness lies half awake - half asleep, all the time fearing and desiring this, or that, or else something else!

Life goes chaotic.

If facing the unconscious fear eye to eye for minimum threshold duration of time can get us permanent rid of it, it is quite probable that facing the unconscious greed eye to eye does the same to our psyche.

So when we design our fear-facing device, we can also plan making a greed-facing device for us too.

There does not seem to be any third possibility of any kind around the deep dark corners of our mind possible; since fear-greed pair is what the root is, the rest all simply being the branches and the leaves only.

We need analyzing it more extensively by going deeper into it and coming with an intensive innovation out of it.

My Story Page 59: Virtual Reality

Reality is what exists out there; and we are able to sense it too, in here.

Virtual reality is what does not exist, but we are still able to sense it.

It is a kind of make-believe delusion.

Like a ghost!

Yes, a ghost would be so, if every single person could sense it the way another does.

But everyone does not sense ghosts.

So, they cannot be categorized as virtual reality.

You may call them our flights of fantasy.

Our personal flights!

What I am talking about is a flight that anyone can take anytime!

One only requires a few tools for that.

And we will vouch for the realness of the experience that this virtual device makes us sense through our sense organs.

Although it is virtual reality; yet, to our perception, it is as good as real.

Are we aiming to fool our perception?

No, we cannot; since our brain knows it is virtual reality only.

So, what are we going to achieve out of this virtual reality experience?

We are only going to provide an efficient aid to our imagination.

All fear is imagination. Is it not?

It is only in the mind. Yes!

We imagine our fears, and then we get scared of them.

Our mind assesses the probability of this unwelcome imagination turning into reality.

Of course at a future moment!

It is the probability of that future moment going to actualize that scares us in the present.

But if our mind knows that the probability is zero, and still the imagination is so vivid as a reflex biological action that the body jumps into the inevitable experience of the unconscious fear (not fears!) stored inside it since eternity, the mind goes into the oblivion for the duration of the experience.

It thinks not!

The body takes this virtual reality as a real one. Once it enters it, there is no way to come out of it. Something like the inevitability of completing the game of Jumanji once you have moved your first move in it!

And the body faces the fear.

The personal unconscious fears since birth accumulated till date!

Also the fear of the collective unconscious of the whole humanity accumulated since even before the mutation started the evolution!

And when body faces them, brain sees clear since the mind has gone into the oblivion.

Brain is not scared of the pain going to be inflicted at a future moment.

Brain lives the present and plans the future on the spur of the moment, not as an anxious thought but as a skillful game right now and here.

Brain has no time to fear. It is every moment busy, only if the mind does not enter its arena to render it ineffective.

Right now in our virtual reality experience, we have managed to take leave of our irrational mind for the time being; and so the brain is free to see what the body is doing in order to face the fear that has been there with it since times immemorial.

It is a do or die situation.

Either body succumbs to fear, or succumbs fear to reality - characterized by the brain going free of the clutches of the mind and the body going free of its own rigidities responsible for all the chronic illnesses that it had contracted since long!

We can design our virtual reality in a way that the first possibility is just turned zero.

Then it remains only a question of the duration of time required to effect a permanent change in the geometry of the body musculature, that takes it beyond a threshold; which once it crosses, it never comes back to its old habitual pattern of muscular geometry.

The permanent change thus gets effected for good!

My Story Page 58: Face to Face

eyes

Tackling an extreme emergency face to face takes us out of our mind as well as out of our body immediately within no time, and we are just left with an absolutely unconditioned mind and an absolutely un-fatigued body ready to look at the emergency straight into its eyes.

Now the question is that if an emergency can cause such a total change in the body so instantaneously, can it somehow be made a lasting one also?

Lasting for life!

A trillion dollar question!

Can a well-designed emergency solve our problems on earth?

We have to take it face to face. There is no other way it can be tackled in. It just turns us into our natural self.

And our natural self is healthy; in fact, very healthy! It is fast, it is sensitive, it is flexible, it is agile, it is open, it is relaxed and it is alert.

Our natural self dissolves all the dysfunctions of our acquired self in one single moment, whether of the body or the mind.

If it stays there for good!

That is only possible when our response to the impending emergency crosses a certain threshold, keeping the intensity of the response at a certain minimum level for a certain minimum duration of time.

We need to design an emergency for that.

The design needs to be such as threatens our unconscious mind even when the conscious mind very well knows that the emergency is not a life-threatening one as such.

Dug out of the deepest groves of our mysteriously irrational minds, all our unconscious fears just come on its surface and stay there for long.

They just make us feel every single moment of their presence over there that they are going to kill us the very next moment.

Until we come to terms with them and start taking them as facts and not as fears!

Now we can look at them into their eyes face to face, simply by opening our eyes full.

Can you open your eyes FULL (in fact, the fullest) right now?

Try it and check for yourself how soon you tend to close them half, the way they have been habitual of being kept all through your life.

The entire skull starts screaming within no time, for them to go back to their cozy, half-closed state.

How can such eyes look at the face of emergency into its eyes face to face?

Emergency does so and scares us to our death.

We avoid and escape.

No, let us give it a tit for tat.

As we do so, it stops scaring and starts smiling as if it was just kidding with us.

And it is a fact!

Eyes are the windows of mind.

The moment we open them full, we not only start realizing the futility of fear but also sensing the compassion of beauty much, much deeper.

Open the windows and the fresh air starts circulating, but to the coziness-loving nincompoop that we are, it feels like a storm and we immediately close the windows back again.

Only a real (or virtual!) storm can break them open for good!

How to create such a strong virtual storm that remains safe enough not to harm the windows beyond repair?
